Why did these two young men act so carelessly? What factors caused them to behave the way they did? Was it something they were destined to do, foretold by a genetic script? Or is there some aspect of our culture that socialized them to make the choices they made last night? Why would any human behave this way? You could write it off simply as young and stupid - but why these boys, in this neighborhood? Why is the young American male so likely to kill himself or others while driving? Did the definition of masculinity we project as a society play a role in this incident? Sometimes, all you have are questions.
