Why did we lose manufacturing in the US? Simple answer: American manufacturers could not stay in business without supplying Walmart with product because they had replaced most other retailers. Walmart demanded such low prices from domestic manufacturers, that they could not meet Walmarts criteria. So they had to move their operations to Asia to be competitive e and be accepted as a supplier to Walmart. Over 1900 of Walmarts top suppliers are from Asia.... Walmart, virtually single-handedly wiped out a large sector of manufacturing by itself. And what does it do with the profits? It keeps them.... Their record of generosity is the lowest among all givers. The profits are spread over a few remaining family members!
