Why do I go Prospecting/digging? Theres a number of dangers when prospecting. The trail is no piece of cake going sometimes grabbing on to tree branches to pull yourself up. Going up the incline is EASY compared to what I did today. The trail is brutal even without the snow and ice caked on the ground. There are several stumps that are difficult to see if covered in snow. One wrong move and I would get down the hill a lot faster than I wanted to. You can trip, break an ankle, a leg, an arm. You can slide down a rock face in a rain storm, not to mention the HUNGRY KITTY CATS that like to frequent that area. There are bears and people FIRING OFF GUNS!!! Not only that, digging ive learned can be dangerous in itself. You can break your fingers or hit yourself in the head with your hammer. On top of that you dig too far without taking out the headwall, you might have a cave in while your ass is in a hole. Lightning storms are another threat. So why do I do this to myself? BECAUSE I LIKE IT and its very therapeutic. I feel a little like Indiana Jones (minus the whip) lol I get to dig for treasure, breath in fresh air, and get to enjoy the beautiful scenery and when you hit a pocket of gemstones, its EXCITING!!!
