Why do I raise awareness for IH? Its just a headach and we all get headaches, right? WRONG!!!! Intracranial Hypertension is a rare, incurable brain disease that mimics all the symptoms of a brain tumor but theres no tumor. Theres too much spinal fluid literally squishing the brain. When we get our headaches, we know that eventually they will go away (often with the help of something as simple as a couple of over the counter pain relievers). Could you imagine trying countless different prescription meds that dont help? And one of the things that does help is having a 6 inch needle stuck in your spine to remove some extra spinal fluid knowing that eventually all that pressure will come back. And not just pressure, there are many other symptoms...nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, ringing in the ears, double vision, possible blindness.
