Why do Protestants bother with Amen (properly pronounced ah-men)? - TopicsExpress

Why do Protestants bother with Amen (properly pronounced ah-men)? Its unnatural to languages outside of Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic -- the languages of historic ecclesiology. Sure, it simply means so be it, so theres nothing in it contrary to typical Protestant theology. But its use certainly goes against their emphasis on vernacular language and individual understanding. Heres why Catholics use it: The word is rooted in liturgy, in Sacred Tradition, and it reflects the universality of our prayer. Thats good enough.
