Why do people despise government agencies? I went to the Social Security Administration website this morning to create an online account - Apparently it is required. After entering my data correctly, and answering the 4 security questions 100% accurately, I was blocked from my account even though I dont have an account yet. Next, I called the Help Desk who said they dont actually have control of the SSA security. They outsource it to the Experian Credit agency, but agreed to unlock my non existent account and let me start over. Again, I put in the correct data and answered the questions - Blocked again and locked down for 30 days by Experian. The SSA agent said she didnt know why it was locked or even why I needed the account that her office said I was required. So to recap, Im locked out of a US government web account that I dont really have by people who are not the US government at all and for reasons that no one understands. The solution offered by the SSA agent; find a local office and submit legal documents to prove that Im who I say I am - If that is who I really am.
