Why do people get so hot under the collar over the marginal - TopicsExpress

Why do people get so hot under the collar over the marginal difference in hardware specs between different brands of phones and consoles? Those couple of extra polygons and pixels here and there mean nothing when the software library is still years behind or does not have that exclusive thing you will end up wanting. Do people really think they sound smart repeating the specs of devices they have quickly Googled and do not bring up anything software related at all? By software I mean Games and Apps. I see all these arguments of people trying to seek group approval by matching opinions (agreeing which set of numbers is better) and their insecurity about their purchases make me respect them less. If you want to play Halo, buy an Xbox. If you want to play the Last of Us buy a PlayStation. If you want a huge software library and most of the popular apps first, get an iPhone. If you like pirating things get an Android. If you want to play Smash Bros buy a Nintendo Console. Comparing things only on a superficial level is stupid, with phones especially. Most mobile apps do not even use the full specs of a device as there are so many different models out there, developers have to make things to suit as many models as possible or else they are limiting their potential customer base too much, so the unnoticeable extra speed of your particular model wont even matter.
