Why do so many ‘Born-Again, Spirit-Filled’ Women show off Cleavage in Church? asks a recent article in Charisma Magazine. A good question. Scripture is clear that women professing godliness ought to dress modestly and be adorned rather with good works (1 Tim 2:9-10). Paul also states that we treat the “unpresentable” parts of our bodies with greater modesty (1 Cor 12:23.) Interpreting scripture appropriately in our time and culture may allow for some debate, but the spirit of these scriptures is clear. Given modern fashions, how then should we dress for church?
