Why do supermarkets sell joints of meat that arent joints ? By - TopicsExpress

Why do supermarkets sell joints of meat that arent joints ? By definition a joint is one piece of meat but recently we have , in good faith, purchased products labelled as joints but have turned out to be 2 or more pieces tied together. It is misleading. Sainsburys no hassle, they credited the Nectar card with a decent amount and said they would take up the question of labelling with the suppliers. I have no objection to meat being sold in this fashion provided it is labelled correctly. Tescos, however, are stonewalling - not our problem, the suppliers are at fault, patting you on the head and saying sorry now go away emails. They seem to pay lip service to customer service and dont realise that as the retailer, under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, they are responsible and not the supplier. The book stops with the retailer !!!! Right Ive got it off my chest and shall continue to harass Tescos - I aint going away as a matter of principle.
