Why do we as indigenous peoples negotiate with the people responsible for our continuing genocide? nobody owns this land.. we are inherent stewards/caretakers of mother earth.... again, NOBODY owns this land ... we have an ancestral obligation to protect mother earth and everything in it.... if we continue to play the colonial game we will inevitably be annihilated/assimilated/destroyed.... we must take a stand ... I am concerned that when we are so distracted by being respectful that we soften our voices, we stop speaking up, we stop believing in ourselves.... I ask only When has the colonial government and kkkanada been concerned about being respectful to us?? ... Speaking up, shutting down and dismantling this system so that we can stop the genocide of our peoples and this land is NOT disrespectful .. it is necessary.
