Why do we constantly repeat the same phrases when our clients are squatting, deadlifting, benching, even posing etc? Really that question should be... Why do u practice something wrong if your goal is to excel and do it correctly??? Some interesting stats regarding Motor Engrams or recruitment patterns ...It takes about 300-500 repetitions to create a Motor Engram when learning a new movement... It takes 3000-5000 repetitions to fix a faulty or incorrect Motor Engrams... If you are a powerlifter and you have goals set for the next time you are on a platform we should not be seeing videos of you doing movements incorrectly... your time in the gym should be spent perfecting and practicing the movements you are working with... why are you practicing them wrong??? Each rep is a chance to practice and teach a Motor Engram, that must be 1st and foremost on your mind unless you already squat, deadlift and bench with perfect form... most of you have learned these things wrong so you are looking at 3000-5000 correct reps to change those habits... you are getting no where doing a couple good ones on the way to heavier weights then doing a bunch of incorrect and less efficient reps... another issue for another day... the people teaching your kids how to do these movements for the 1st time in school better know everything they can about proper form and how to teach it too... 95% of kids come out of high school with the wrong motor engrams for the 3 main movements of squats, deads, and bench... this is why we are providing FREE group training, 1 on 1 and programming for members of RAB who are interested in powerlifting or just increasing there prs in the squat, deadlift, overhead and flat press... no one in our gym should be doing any of these movements wrong...
