Why do we need hearts? Physically we need the heart to circulate - TopicsExpress

Why do we need hearts? Physically we need the heart to circulate blood through our bodies to bring oxygen to our cells and clear away waste. Why do we feel? Physically, we evolved the basic level of feelings in order to keep us alive. Why do we feel love and hope? Specialists say that we evolved those feelings as a means to bond with other people. If our hearts are needed so much, then why is it that they can be broken? Why can the wrong words break our hearts so easily? If feelings are meant to help us to stay alive, then why is it that when feelings are hurt greatly do many seek a means to end life? If love and hope are meant to help us bond with others, then why is it that those same feelings can do so much harm to us? It seems to me that during our evolution we went gravely wrong in those areas. Especially, with hope and love. Having hope for a better tomorrow, or that love will come your way is just as damaging as having no hope. Feeling love and having taken away is just as devastating as not feeling loved. It would be better to never have to feel hope and love, then too have to deal with the harm that comes from them. It would be better to not feel beyond the physical as a means of survival. It would be better if our hearts were not broken so easily. If there are scientists out there looking for volunteers to have their feelings removed, then sign me up. I am through with them. I would rather feel nothing, then feel something. Only to have it taken back, or to have my feelings tossed aside like they are meaningless. To feel nothing would be a blessing and a true leap forward in evolution.
