Why does God allow bad things happen to good people? Why bad - TopicsExpress

Why does God allow bad things happen to good people? Why bad things happen to good people? Thats one of the most difficult questions in all of theology. God is eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipotent, etc.. Why do we as human beings (not eternal, nor infinite, neither omniscient nor omnipresent or omnipotent) expect to fully comprehend Gods plan? The book of Job speaks on this matter. God allowed Satan to do everything he wanted to Job except kill him. What was Jobs reaction? Behold, though He slay me, in Him (Job 13:15). The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; is the name of the Lord (Job 1:21). Job did not understand why God had allowed the things that happened to him, but he knew that God was good and therefore continued to trust in Him Basically, that should be our reaction. God is good, just, loving and merciful. Often things happen to us that we simply can not comprehend. However, instead of doubting Gods goodness, our reaction must be trusted in Him Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Perhaps a better question would be, Why do good things happen to bad people? God is holy (Isaiah 6:3, Revelation 4:8) Humans are sinners (Romans 3:23, 6:23). Want to know how God sees humanity? As it is written, There is none righteous, not even one; no one understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, not even one. Their throat is an open sepulcher. Their tongues practice deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips. His mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their ways; and know not the way of peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes. (Romans 3:10-18). Every human being on this planet deserves to be thrown into hell at this very moment. Every second that were still alive is only by the grace of God. Even the most terrible misery we could experience on this planet is merciful compared to what we deserve, eternal damnation in the lake of hellfire. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8). Despite the evil, vile, and sinful nature of the people of this world, God still loves us. He loved us enough to suffer Himself the punishment we deserve for our sins (Romans 6:23). All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Romans 10:9) to be forgiven and have eternal life in heaven (Romans 8:1). What we deserve is hell =. What we are given is = eternal life in heaven if you only believe. It has been said that this world is the only hell that believers experience, and that this world is the only heaven unbelievers experience. The next time that we get the question, Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?, Perhaps we should rather ask, Why does God allow good things happen to bad people?
