Why does Monsanto make GMO crops? It’s simple: PROFITS…… The company Monsanto makes the weed killer “Round-up”. It’s their biggest seller, meaning Mega-Profits. There is only one problem. It kills weeds, but it also kills Non-Target crops like corn, wheat, and soy beans. So you would think it’s back to the drawing board, to research and develop some thing different, wouldn’t you? Nope. Not Monsanto. R and D for a new herbicide would cost $$, and Loss Of Profits! It would be better to leave “Round Up” on the market, and Modify the crops to resist “round up”, and charge more $$ for the seed, which, by the way, they patent, so you have to buy seed year after year, after year, instead of saving seed from your harvest for the following year, like farmers used to. Is there a problem with the GMO crops? Yes. Serious ones. But again, $$ rues over common sense. So instead of going back to R and D to fix it, it’s cheaper for Monsanto to BRIBE (oops) I mean Lobby Congress to pass a law stating that they, Monsanto, can’t be sued. They did it. It was a “Rider Bill” they called the “Farmers Assurance Bill”, (AKA Monsanto Protection bill) their boot-licking lackeys attached to a Bill to keep the government running. It’s all about the Profits. Corporate Greed Over Human Need.
