Why does society prefer to assume the worst about people, - TopicsExpress

Why does society prefer to assume the worst about people, especially women, and leap to lazy, cynical conclusions that can destroy innocent lives? Everyone was convinced that Rebecca Brooks was guilty. The police condemned her, as did the media, launching a vicious witch hunt focused even more on her than her male colleagues, who were ironically guilty whilst she was innocent! Imagine the hell she must have gone through and then think how much worse such unjustified condemnation is for those who dont have the money, power, and social and professional connections that she has. Imagine how it feels to be bullied by authorities and communities who wrongly condemn you just because you have a physical problem they cant see and you look really good. Consider the level of injustice involved in bullying condemning a woman in such a vulnerable position to such an extent that people in her community set out to deliberately try to destroy her friendships and loving relationships, eviscerate her heart, harass her daily, wrongly accuse her of lying when shes telling the truth, and then attempt to pretend shes either making it all up of crazy when she has the courage to gather evidence and threaten to share it if they dont back down and stop trying to take the people she cares about away from her. Imagine that you are in her shoes, crying from your soul one minute and fighting the injustice the next, proving your logical reasoning with academic work, whilst working hard to find the opportunities you shouldnt be denied, whilst suffering the injustice of being wrongly accused of not trying. As long as such cruelties exist there will be protest against them, on behalf of human rights. It is a positive thing to protest against human rights abuses and it is even more positive to fight for love. No surrender, ever.
