Why hasnt the movie theater industry been disrupted yet? Heres - TopicsExpress

Why hasnt the movie theater industry been disrupted yet? Heres what we have today: A vast, industrial complex of interconnected entities (production companies, directors, distributors, theater chains) made up of experts decide what movies are made, bought and shown. Independent movie makers, and audiences with less mainstream tastes, suffer. Heres what Id like to see: As a moviegoer, you specify any movies that might be of interest to you (absolutely ANYTHING, old or new), and at what times youre available to go to the theater. Once there are enough votes for a certain movie at a certain time, that slot is filled, and opens up for everyone else to join. It replicates current behavior, but it can also respond quickly to shifting interests.
