Why is Oprah looking at a $38,000 pocket book? Sure, she can afford it. But come on, what can you add to a handbag to make it worth that kind of money? Maybe some new kind of leather we don’t know about? People are starving all over the world and Oprah does so much to help, but then spends almost 40,000 on a handbag. And, wonder how many she has? And how about all the other people who shop at those stores? Extravagance is out of control, talk about appealing to people’s vanity. Put the right name on any product and people will pay a small fortune to say they carry “the in” brand. Do they feel better knowing they are carrying a handbag that cost more than about a third of the people in the U.S. earn in a year? Much less in other countries. How much can one handbag cost to make? Sorry Oprah, I don’t feel too bad about this one. Shop at a regular store.
