Why is it so difficult for people to understand that vengeance is not a solution? My sister replied.. If someone kills me Di.. You wont think of killing that person? At least in your first instinct? Made me think. Yes, I would. And then the Years of teaching and societal conditioning would stop me. It would ask me to act in a civilised manner. Believe in the state. The police. The idea of justice. And that brought an image in front of my eyes. Thst moment when I was sitting in a park at Rajiv Chowk and saw an acid attack victim with a Child.. What really is the idea of justice? Will that girl get her face, her skin, her innocence and dignity back? Will those innocent lives return? Even if the terrorists are caught? Or just tear free bread in a jail room for years? Will the adivasis who burnt an entire village to avenge the terrorist attack find peace? Will it avenge their loss? What is the idea of vengeance then? Isnt it a ploy? The bait?
