Why is it that every region I look at travelling to with a sizable Muslim population the region is classed as extremely dangerous and the Australian government advises you do not enter the region. Whilst other regions of the same country made up of other any other religion it is safe to travel? After doing some good googling the Muslim regions have generally had years of social unrest and far greater levels of poverty and unemployment. At Christmas I was in Thailand, the southern part has a large Muslim population. (Australian government consular advice is “Do Not Travel “) Looking now at parts of the Philippines The Muslim regions of Central and western Mindanao, including the Zamboanga Peninsula and the Sulu Archipelago (Australian government consular advice is “Do Not Travel “) This then made me think about my own backyard, people often say Muslims in Australia don’t work and are poor.. Is this a generalisation?? Well according the last Censis it’s not. National unemployment rates in selected religious groups Lutheran 4 per cent Baptist 4.8 per cent Orthodox 4.9 per cent Buddist 9.6 per cent Muslim 13.4 per cent "In total, 58 per cent of Muslims earned less than $400 per week compared to 41 per cent of the Australian population," What do I make of the above? Well not much, it just reaffirms my stance as an Atheist. That is "religion is for the weak trying to fill some void in there pitiful life". O and Muslims are the worst of a bad bunch.
