Why is monergism a big deal? perhaps the most important reason is because is establishes with the Bible that salvation is of Christ ALONE. All spiritual blessings are found in Him, and He does EVERYTHING necessary for our salvation, including granting us a new heart to believe. (Deut 29;4, 30:6; John 6:63-65) He is not merely necessary but SUFFICIENT to save to the uttermost. ... so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And BECAUSE OF HIM you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” (1 Cor 1:29-31 emphasis mine).
