....Why should peaceful protest be met with this? Ive listened, Ive read, and Ive read some more. People ask why dont people of color protest black on black crimes? The question should be why doesnt main stream media cover protest, rallies, and marches for black on black violence? Why does it take the death of another un-armed black teenager to get the attention of the powers that be to see that not much has changed when it comes to the use of excess and deadly force; whether the victim be black, white, or brown? Yes, black people do protest black on black crimes. The Media doesnt see these rallies, marches, or protest as a means to increase ratings! Conservative republican politicians cant spin these into fear mongering propaganda! They cant use these gathering as rally to buy arms and ammo! Now let there be peaceful protest to the killing of an un-armed black teen, large numbers of peaceful black people and her comes the SWAT team. Here comes the dogs! Whats next fire hoses? I know, I know we are to never speak of the past, right?. We are to have just forgotten about the early and mid 1900s. The 20s, 30s-the 70s! Or maybe just 2 years ago in Florida when another un-armed teenager was killed in cold blood in Florida! Ive noticed whenever we say, mention, anything about racism, oppression, out injustice there are people out there would like for us to be quiet. Its just supposed to be all ok. Were bringing up the past. Looks like to me the past isnt the past, its the present.
