Why should rational people be surprised that irrational people are acting irrationally? The guy in Dallas came here with EBOLA, went to the hospital with symptoms, got sent home to a two by four apartment with six relatives for two days, went back to the hospital and died. Not one of his family members contacted the disease. Two healthcare workers who did not have the proper equipment or procedures treating him while he was in the latter stages of the disease caught it. They were treated and cured. Another doctor came back from West Africa and while self monitoring started to feel ill, but not too bad. Traveled cross town, went bowling, saw his temperature go up to 100.3 called the authorities and is now being treated. NO ONE caught it from him. This nurse comes back from West Africa, presents no symptoms and is now being insulted and treated like a criminal because she refuses to be quarantined because people are irrationally frightened. If she did get symptoms, shed have about a week before shed become contagious. People have this irrational fear like in the movies where shell develop blisters on her body while on the subway and spread it around on the spot. Its not like that. Thats irrational, but if you are irrational, thats your way. How can you be expected to act any other way? Please note: I totally agree with this analysis that I copied from another post.
