Why the government wants Stability? Perhaps, most of us would think that stability is good for investment, hence job creation. But the reality is worst from the fact that stability in the government will not change anything unless the government is serious by firstly addressing law and order problems, the high cost of doing business and living in the country, a corrupt and dysfunctional public service, corruption, poor infrastructure, lack of skilled labor, high tax rates, etc. These are some of the factors which contribute to the lack of investment in the country by foreign investors. If the government cannot address the above issues but still but wants stability in the government by changing and amending the constitution for the same reason, then we are looking at a government that is trying to promote something else – not the interest of the people of Papua New Guinea.
