Why the phrase ‘Fail To Plan, Plan to Fail’ might really CAUSE - TopicsExpress

Why the phrase ‘Fail To Plan, Plan to Fail’ might really CAUSE you to fail... I’m sure you have heard this quote before. In fact you probably have witness it many times in your life - that people who are successful usually plan in advance. Planning gives us direction. It helps us to focus. It shows us what to do. In fact, it’s essential to have a plan before you launch anything. If you want to launch a magazine, you need an editorial calendar. If you want to launch a product, you need to know what steps you need to take at every stage. If you want to launch a marketing campaign, you need to plan your funnel and sequence properly. But here’s the shocker: The mistake that many business owners and entrepreneurs make is… They end up planning TOO much! Because they want to be perfect, they make sure that they have thoroughly done their research. They make sure that they have gathered ALL the information that they could possibly gather. And when they felt that they have everything they need, they began to lay out a comprehensive plan that is so meticulous and so detailed that they would put those space engineers to shame. And often times, these could take weeks, months… and even years before they start taking action. The results: They end up moving too slowly. Many of them also ended up hesitating for too long until they dont even take action at all. As a results, though they have a grand perfect plan, they ended up failing to achieve their goals. Here’s the thing: Speed triumphs over perfection. In business and marketing (and often life), speed is one of the MOST important elements to get results. This is something I always emphasise, especially in my own team. One of the reasons why were always able to get amazing results rapidly is because we place a lot of emphasis on speed. Here’s an example: You probably know that in order to build a successful business, you need to create something that the market wants. And to know what your market wants, you need to do your market research. But it’s still not enough to do market research. To truly know whether it is something that the market wants, you need to see whether people are willing to buy it. This means that you need to test the market. And so faster you test it, the faster you will know whether it is something that the market wants. And in the event that it is not something that the market wants, you can change it or enhance it to make it better. You can continue to test it, change it, and test it again… until you find one that the market wants. But all these can only happen if you move fast enough. Imagine if you invest a lot to create the “perfect” offer, only to find out that it’s not something that the market wants… How much time and resources have you wasted? And how much more would you waste to create another offer? As General George S. Patton said, “A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.” So remember: Speed is more important than perfection. Work fast. Move fast. Take action fast. Useful? “Share” it so others will benefit as well. If you want to get more powerful and practical tips on business, marketing and entrepreneurship, click here --> bit.ly/1mp-fbpost-1-140128
