Why todays F1 Turbos are less louder than the Turbo of the 80s.The main reason is the lower pressure 3.5 bar (F1) vs 1.4 from a IndyCar engine which is a Turbo V6 but without ERS or Electronics. If that Turbo pressure gets reduce Itd takeout some power, a lot to be honest. Why the 80s Turbos was more louder? They didn’t have the current fuel-burning rate restriction. Those engines would have actually have injected more than it could burn at that time. In Qualy during the 80s those Engines had more pressure because they were using Qualy Engine (5.6 bar). So if you want louder Engines in F1. FIA would have to reduce the Turbo pressure but it will take a lot of HP. In other words. More Engines noises means less pressure = Less HP. Now you get it?
