Why #turkeyfailed? I was born to Armenian parents who ensured I - TopicsExpress

Why #turkeyfailed? I was born to Armenian parents who ensured I knew my heritage and cultural identity from the day I opened dark, curiously seeking eyes to the world. I was raised in a community where I was taught to read, write, speak, dance, sing, and breathe Armenian. I went to school with fellow Armenians, befriended them, fought with them, loved them, hated them, and felt a kinship with them that one cannot find elsewhere. I was given a choice of what I wanted to do with my Armenianness: I chose to dedicate my free time to volunteering for my people, in my community. I became an AYF member at 16, a HOMouhi at 18 and Hamazkayinagan at 22. I volunteered at the school that raised me to be the woman I am today and worked at the Armenian Summer Day Camp for many years, passing on bits of an Armenian soul to those under my care. I was introduced to Armenia from the ripe age of 12, after which I visited 3 more times, the third of which was my final move to the homeland. Here I have been for 10 months and here is where I will breathe my final breath. Here is where I will give my country lions to protect my nation and lionbearers to continue the line. Մենք կանք, պիտի լինենք ու դեր շատանանք: I AM Armenian. I LIVE in Armenia. I am a woman PROUD of myself and my heritage because #turkeyfailed
