Why was grandson Lachy as quiet as a mouse in the Chamber this evening during the swearing in ceremony? Could Chuppa Cup, or is it Chup be the answer? (see pic ) It was lovely having family, friends and supporters, particularly from the Chinese Community who attended this evening’s official swearing in ceremony. I am looking forward to working with my 2nd Lord Mayor, and as I mentioned this evening, the Lord Mayor will have my full civic support. For the first time in the history of Hobart Council we now have gender equality. 6 females - 6 males. I refrain from saying 6 ladies and 6 gentlemen, because politics does not work like that. All things being equal, I look forward to the Great Debate……as will The Mercury By the way, congratulations to the TCBA- (Tasmanian Chinese Business Association) for the wonderful initiative of bringing to Hobart the China Conservatory Orchestra -not to be missed. details attached
