Why was the South solidly rock hard Democratic since the nineteenth century, then switch to solid rock hard Republican in the late sixties in the twentieth century? Just as The Netherlands is the extremes of Pot Smoking Bars vs. Calvinists, why is California either super liberal hip happening cultural elite Hollywood vs. ultra conservative Orange County? If the Democratic Party is now Liberal and the Republican Party now Conservative, why are they not called The Liberal Party and The Conservative Party like in other democracies? With only two viable parties in an expansive nation with so many various demographics, who decides who gets which issue? Who decides which demographic to go after? Why are there only two viable parties, and what is the core difference between them (I mean this sincerely)?
