Why was the coverage of Madison square so important for Indian - TopicsExpress

Why was the coverage of Madison square so important for Indian television editors that every one wanted to be there? The whole idea of investing so much (out of proportion) energy, time and resources for getting into The D League reporting on power circles seems absolutely futile to me. Fighting over was he covered or not by American media or were the protests covered or not is a equal waste of energy. This mad race to be present in the D league just shows that television editors are still suffering form colonial hangover and elitist syndrome. There are many more important stories of common people crying for attention (outside Delhi, of-course). And how so ever weak these common people may be, history shows that honest stories have always emerged from the lives of the commons. As far as the power circles are concerned, the kings always had a whole bunch of their own historians and poets (Raj Kavi) for this purpose.
