Why we could NOT endorse Steven Nobile! This post is in response to the Steven Nobile supporters asking why we do not support Steven. Steven says he is anti-camera. Why did we not endorse him too? Well lets go over why we can not. A few Months ago on Flagler Live Mr. Nobile was challenged by one voter online about his position on Red Light Cameras. Until that point it seemed Steven would have been our guy to support. We then watched as Steven quickly backtracked on his position. He began to do exactly what current councilman Bill McGuire does. He took a hedged position, creating room to go either way. Using the false claim of safety as the excuse. Sorry Steven but this issue has been studied by the University of South Florida and the results showed cameras make intersection more dangerous. He said this: I did not question the validity of the red-light cameras, I questioned the process and the implementation. If it would be proven that the cameras save lives and prevent accidents, we could have implemented a better solution than taking millions of dollars out of the city and send it to Tallahassee and the camera company. Our economy is rough right now and that makes it a bad decision.. Im sorry but that is not anti-camera enough for us. We dont want another implementation of a bad idea. Nor will it be a good idea if the economy were better. This is the same type of statements we get from politicians that the Red Light camera Lobbyist get to. It seemed to us that Nobile is just positioning himself to become the next recipient of the generosity of red light camera company lobbyist. We just dont trust him. If he cant hold his position against one person typing behind his keyboard, How is he going to stand up to the Red Light Camera Lobbyist? How is he going to stand up to Jim Landon? How is he going to deal with other city councilmen that are very much pro-camera. We just dont trust Steven Nobile. He seem to say anything he thinks will get him the most votes. Saying your against red light cameras is a lot of votes. He has done nothing to help the cause. Steven Nobile is All talk...No action. Ask him what he plans to do about anything. Every response is basically, I will figure it out after you elect me. Woody Douge has a plan for jobs. Woody Douge has a plan to get rid of the red light cameras. Woody Douge has a plan to raise property values. Woody Douge has a plan to create a better Palm Coast. Most importantly, when we called on the community to help us gather signatures to get rid of the red light cameras. Woody Douge was one of the volunteers who showed up. He went door to door collecting over 1200 signatures for us. Woody Douge took action. He does not plan on doing something. Woody is already doing something. Yesterday Steven Nobile commented on his Facebook page that he will figure out what to do about the red light cameras after we elect him to the council. We believe these statements are merely a precursor to the excuses once on the council. He will either get behind the false safety claims or tell us its not possible once he figures it out. Really, you dont have a plan yet? Youve been talking about cameras ever since you announced your running for the council, and you dont know what your going to do yet? Woody Douge already know what to do. He does not need on the job training on what to do about red light cameras. Steven Nobile is typical of the former Executive class politician we have placed on the city council. These guys just want the job so they can ride in a city truck and wave at us like they are the Queen of England in our local parades. They have little purpose except they want the prestige of the job. Just one more accolade they want for their legacy. Then we complain their entire tenure wondering why did we vote this guy in, he doesnt want to do anything for us. We endorse Woody Douge for Palm coast City Council. Thank you for all your support.
