Why we still need libraries: *A woman wants to bring her kids to Disney on Ice, doesnt have a computer at home, helped her retrieve her ticketmaster password and print out her e-tickets in time to not miss the show with her kids *An older lady needs to sign up for housing assistance. She now has an account with them, a new email account and the ability to recieve texts online because she doesnt own a cell phone and couldnt get verification numbers otherwise. *A lady called wanting us to reserve for her a copy of the Bible, Sylvia Browne book, a book on ghosts, the Illuminati, the movie The Omen and the Enclyclopedia of Paranormal Activity. She will not be having a boring weekend. *Watching my coworker Jolie Anne Warner help the teens make Mothers Day fold out bouquet cards with the teens. Anyone who can get teens to voluntarily come make some crafts is goooooood. *Our childrens librarian Jaleesa DeLavallade and tech Mr. George led a group of schoolkids on a tour through the library this morning. Showed them books, which can download information straight to your brain without the need for a computer or electricity! *Helped a woman retrieve her Equifax password so she can find out if her stolen credit cards are still active. *Ive been spending the day writing up a program on how to install Overdrive on e-devices so you can access ebooks, audiobooks, music and stuff the library offers anywhere! All in a days work!
