Why will you keep a cat? Any idea on the fate of cats now in #Cameroon? This afternoon, I had a very interesting conversation with friends who want to buy cats but aren’t sure if the cat will be helpful. You know, usually, cats were brought home to hunt [prey on] rats / mice. In fact, the cats feed mostly on rats and were in charge of doing the hunt. Today, it seems every has changed. Cats nowadays have grown much wiser than their parents [ancestors]. They are more independent, empowered and are thus making decisions on what to eat and not to eat. They too want to eat hamburger, roasted (bonny) meat /fish, chicken stew, hotpot…LazaNia etc. It was interesting to hear from friends that our Cameroon cats don’t eat rats/ mice anymore except otherwise when severely starved. And this changed in habit has left many cat keepers confused and frustrated. To some, it seems, cats no longer have a role in their house. While to others, they feel that it’s just a matter of time…the cats will come back to their senses [lol!] Whatever is the case? The truth is that evolution is not only bn experienced by humans…but all creatures (living and nonliving) So, Why will you keep a cat?
