Why, with regard to the refugee children, are people wailing about how we choose to allocate our resources, acting like we cant afford to be compassionate, and moral, and ethical and Christian towards these child refugees, because we have hungry children of our own here, there are homeless people here, people living in cardboard boxes here, VA benefits are inadequate, and what have you? Why are people making the implied argument that if we do the right thing for these refugee children - the only moral and ethical thing - that would somehow take away funding and resources that would otherwise go to these other people, places and causes? THAT SIMPLY IS NOT THE CASE! We are spending so much money on foreign aid and unnecessary, undeclared, unfunded wars and corporate subsidies, that if we simply stopped those, we could gold-plate every residential cardboard box and VA Clinic and hospital not only within our own borders, not only in the whole world, but probably in the whole Milky Way Galaxy. We give big oil subsidies to pollute our planet and ruin our ecosystem, and commit the ecological felony of fracking. Why dont we simply stop that, and use that money on all these other causes people are raising as a justification to be assholes towards these vulnerable children? I am very offended by the arguments Ive seen on this issue. Those arguments are but mere rationalizations and mental gymnastics performed in a transparent attempt to mask the real issue: Racism. Veterans and the homeless and hungry children dont get treated better because Republicans dont give a dayum about Veterans and and the homeless and hungry children. Its that simple. Let me remind you that this is our home. We are indigenous to this hemisphere. Our Homeland goes from Nunavut to Tierra del Fuego. These kids are MY kids, not some foreign, nameless, faceless, worthless set of amino acids that can be discarded like so much garbage. And let me tell you something else. You remember that bullshit Manifest Destiny concept used as a rationalization to commit theft and genocide? Well, people need to understand we are now watching El Destino Patente coming to fruition. You see, the Nican Tlaca have a Destiny, too. You cant hold back the ocean.
