Why work? For one reason it’s better than stealing. On the plus side you can also find your calling. That special work Jesus has designed just for you to do. Work also supplies for your needs and those of your family. You can even set aside some of what you earn from work, for a future time of need. The rainy days no one can forecast. But God has also designed you to work with others in view. Ephesians 4:28 says, “Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.” “Something to share.” What you earn isn’t just for you. You love your neighbors, especially when it’s raining on them. That extra umbrella you have will come in handy.
