Why would any believer want to celebrate Halloween....whether just for fun or just because???? As ubiquitous as Halloween celebrations are throughout the world, few know that the true origin of Halloween is a ceremony of honoring ancestors and the day of the dead. A time when the veils between the worlds were thinner, and so many could see the other side of life. Surely the Word of God warns us enough times against the evil one - against deception and against dabbling. DO NOT COMPROMISE THE TRUTH, DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE DECEIVED...SPIRITUALLY IT IS A DARK , DEEP AND POWERFULLY SINISTER TIME - IT IS NOT A FUN TIME FOR CHILDREN TO TRICK OR TREAT. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. (Romans 12:9) Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. (Leviticus 19:31) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lords table, and of the table of devils. (1 Corinthians 10:21) Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
