Why would the Lord have to say this? Because obviously there were those who rebelled against Him, to serve a man-made god, instead of the Lord! This Command was NOT just for the false religions of the past, and the false idols they served... but was for ALL False religions, and All the LIES, which man would create, even those in present times! If your god is NOT the One True Living Lord God of The Bible, you are NOT serving a LIVING GOD but are serving a fabrication of man, which CANNOT hear your prayers, for there is NO LIFE in false gods! Turn from the lies which were taught to you from your youth! Return to the One True Living God, of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. There is NO GOD EXCEPT THE LORD GOD OF THE BIBLE! Serve the One True God Who Is REAL! Obey His command in (Acts 2:38-39). This is the Bibles True Salvation Plan. It is given so that your sins may be remitted. May the Lord Bless Your Obedience, in Jesus name.
