Why would we (most likely) never invest in the government?? Well, - TopicsExpress

Why would we (most likely) never invest in the government?? Well, here are some great examples of how mismanaged it is... For example: - Between 2002 and 2012, federal agencies gave out about $688 BILLION to the wrong people. - Only roughly 10% of hte $104 BILLION the govt spent to rebuild Afghanistan can actually be accounted for. No large entity is perfect, but we see this lack of focus as a pretty clear indication that we shouldnt trust government entities to manage our money very well. Instead, we prefer to look at publicly traded companies that have to file accurate and timely accountings of their businesses so that investors can make their own decisions as to whether they are being well managed (or not.) Some may read this as govt bashing, but it really isnt. It is more a statement of how non-correlated the govt can be from the private sector. The govt, in our opinion, is clearly mismanaged, but the U.S. economy continues to improve, so we prefer to bet on the private sector (and we think you might want to as well)!
