Whyteleafe 6.1 Tunbridge Wells An absolutely thumping performance from Leafe who ended up totally outclassing the top of the table TW side. But, own up, who saw that coming after the 1st 20 minutes or so when we were struggling to find our feet? Leafe took the lead in the 4th minute after Wells captain Jason Bourne turned the ball into his own net. Wells then had the better of things and deservedly equalised after a mix up in the Leafe area saw keeper and defender collide and the free ball fall to a Tunbridge player. Not too long after that, Leafe seemed to settle into their stride and started playing the ball around. They regained the lead after a lovely crossfield pass from Ryan Fowler was cushioned into Jensen Grants path by Bentley Graham leaving Grant to cooly slot home. Leafe then took control and never looked back, adding a 3rd goal just before the break when Taylor Smith outpaced the Wells defence to latch onto a long through ball and blasted home. All the talk at half time was how we would probably have to weather the Tunbridge Wells storm in the opening spell of the 2nd half but the storm ended up going the other way as Leafe launched attack after attack and were rewarded by a hat trick from the insatiable goal machine, Roscoe DSane. With both DSane and Taylor Smith substituted in the final 15 minutes the Wells defence had some of the pressure taken off them and Tunbridge pushed hard for a consolation goal but to little avail. Leafe comfortably saw the game out and the final whistle was met with huge cheers both on and off the pitch. Rest assured that on this performance Leafe are very much in the title race.
