Wide-open space, and beautiful scenery are some of the best parts about living in Colorado. But, keep in mind with that nature comes wildlife. There have been several recent bear sightings in the Town, so we wanted to remind residents – never feed wildlife. It’s not just your pets that like dog food! If a bear finds food near a home, or in a backyard or vehicle, they’ll come back for more. This could cause the bear to associate people with food. They could get aggressive in search of an easy meal and could become a danger to the neighborhood. In most cases, this means the bear would have to be put down. Keep your garage doors closed, don’t leave trash out overnight and never leave food out for animals. Discouraging bears, and other wildlife, from coming into your neighborhood is the best thing you can do for the animal – and our community. Head to CRgov/bears to learn more.
