WidenI77.org Public Meeting in Davidson with BOCC Chairman Trevor Fuller on August 18 Friends, Over the past several weeks, the WidenI77 organization has seen tremendous growth and support from members of the community just like you who see the negative consequences of moving forward with the proposed HOT lanes on I-77. In these final days, it will take a concentrated effort of citizen involvement to make sure our elected officials know where we stand. Here is another opportunity to show your concern. WidenI77 encourages citizens to meet with Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners Chair Trevor Fuller: Monday, August 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Davidson Town Hall at 216 S. Main Street. Tolls are projected by the NC DOT to be over $20 for a round trip from Mooresville to Uptown. Congestion is required for the toll road to be successful. This congestion will eventually translate into higher local taxes to fund secondary road improvements that might not otherwise be needed. Once the contract is signed later this year, we will have 50 years of growing congestion and two classes of commuters – those who can afford the tolls and those who will be forced to sit in ever worsening traffic. Come and politely share your thoughts with Mecklenburg County Commissioners Chair Trevor Fuller on Monday, August 18th at 6:30 PM at the Davidson Town Hall on Main Street. Representatives from WidenI77 will be on hand with lapel stickers and to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your involvement! ~The WidenI77 Team
