Wilburs Updated pictures and Bio: Wilbur is a beautiful 6 yr. old male Tri-Color Collie, who found himself owner surrendered after his previous canine companions passed away and he was left alone, as an outside only dog. As Collies will do when left alone, Wilbur found his way out of his fenced yard. For this reason, Wilbur is supervised when outside with his foster siblings. Though he loves to play with the other 5 dogs outdoors, Wilbur still will occasionally check to find the weak spot in any fence. It will take him some time to break old habits, and his foster Mom & Dad are working to help him understand that theres no need to wander out of his fenced enclosure any longer. Wilbur has flourished in his foster home, only taking a few days to stop living by the back door, waiting to be put outside. He loves indoor life, even taking to being crate trained VERY easily. Hes basically a very content & quiet boy when in his crate...especially as that is where his food dish is located! He tends to think any food dish on the floor is fair game, but does take No! easily. He will still lie down beside it and wait until no one is looking...barking if another sibling comes over...and will sneak a bite here and there. With other foster siblings in their crates right beside him, all of them enjoy having their own dishes in their own spaces and that works wonderfully for Wilbur, as well. He is happy to go in his crate at any time of the day or night! Wilbur has easily adjusted to foster life, having other canine playmates, ranging in age from 1 yr. - 10 yrs. He has also become quite a hit with the feline occupants of the house! He isnt really all that curious about them, though they do pay him some attention and he seems fine with that. He will do well in a forever home that has a few kitties. Wilbur is very laid back and easy going...and absolutely adores human attention. He will seek you out often, as he loves to be wherever his humans are. He relishes his head and ears scratched. He will put his head in your lap to be petted and if you stop before he wants you to, he will paw at you to continue with your attention! He is a great cuddler, too. He will melt right into you if he is permitted to curl up on the sofa with you...a real sweetheart of a dog. You will have a loyal and lifelong companion with this boy...he has so much love stored & bubbling over to give to his furever family.
