Wilco ADOPTED! Handsome Maine Coon Wilco aka Willie was surrendered to Lambertville Animal Welfare (LAW) recently by his owners at 9 years old. Luckily many people understand the beauty in an older cat who just wants to sleep in a sunny window or next to you at night and be a peaceful, calm, and loving best friend. His new owners tell us that they feel “blessed” to have him in their family…they love him so much and he has greatly enriched their lives! Wilco joins Bodhi, a very handsome & sweet orange boy who was LAW’s very first rescue in 2011. Bodhi was a “found” cat in Lambertville who opened a group of resident’s eyes to the fact that the city needed a more progressive approach to the ways that Animal Control and Lost & Found pets were handled. Lambertville Animal Welfare was formed and is now a 501(c)3 Non Profit group of volunteers dedicated to saving the lives of animals in Lambertville & surrounding towns. Our goal, via Community Collaboration, is to create a No-Kill system within Animal Control, reunite owners with lost pets, find new/foster homes for unwanted adoptable cats including special needs and senior cats, oversee TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) for community cat colonies, and promote low-cost spay/neuter and microchipping of all resident cats and dogs. Wilco & Bodhi….two handsome boys who are the embodiment of Lambertville Animal Welfare and the work that we do to find loving forever homes for animals in the “next chapter of their lives” - a tale with a very happy ending!
