Wilkes University Extends Deadline for Mesa MBA Scholarships MESA, ARIZ. (Sept. 24, 2013) –Wilkes University is continuing to offer MBA scholarships for prospective students who submit a program application and supporting materials by Dec. 9 for Spring 2014 consideration. The inaugural MBA scholarship will reduce total tuition for the degree by as much as $15,000 for qualifying students. Scholarships are based on undergraduate grade-point average (GPA). Professional experience will also be considered. Recipients must be Arizona residents. Awards are available at the following levels for the 2013-14 academic year: • $15,000 total program award equal to 50 percent of tuition per semester Awarded to applicants with undergraduate GPA of 3.5 and above • $7,500 total program award equal to 25 percent of tuition per semester Awarded to applicants with undergraduate GPA of 3.0 to 3.49 • $3,000 total program award equal to 10 percent of tuition per semester Awarded to applicants with undergraduate GPA of 2.5 to 2.99 Tuition for the MBA program is $770 per credit. Classes start in January at the Mesa Center for Higher Education, 245 West 2nd St. Wilkes University also offers master’s degrees in classroom technology, creative writing, engineering management, mechanical engineering and teaching English as a second language. To qualify, applicants must submit a completed program application and official undergraduate transcripts by Dec. 9, 2013. Applications can be completed online at wilkes.edu/Mesa. Students who are awarded scholarships will be able to retain them for the length of the program. To retain scholarships from semester to semester, students must have continuous enrollment (fall, spring and summer terms) with a minimum of 6 credits per term, maintain good academic standing and make acceptable academic progress as determined by federal regulations. Wilkes is one of four colleges participating in the H.E.A.T. (Healthcare, Education, Aerospace, Technology/Tourism) Initiative for Economic Development in Mesa, designed to increase college competition and spur economic growth. Wilkes was selected as a finalist for the program after institutions across the United States were invited to submit proposals by the City of Mesa.
