Will Jordan Henderson be promoted to captain next season. I hope so its a big call at such a young age but it sent Gerrard to another level when he became captain at 22. One thing I notice about Henderson and I think its the reason he got the vice captains armband is when Gerrard is not on the field he becomes a totally different player he organises the field and takes control as a leader should attacks start from his feet and his range of passing increases. My only reservation about him getting the captains armband is his mental strength he struggled badly to come to terms with joining a massive club so can he mentally cope with becoming captain. As much as Gerrards presence will be missed I think this squad could push on in his absence against Swansea last week it was evident that Gerrards absence was a positive every player stepped up to the mantle most noticeable was Henderson and Coutinho in the middle of the field they took the game forward and controlled the tempo. Fast forward a few days with Gerrards inclusion suddenly the same players didnt stamp there authority as it looks like they feel the need to give the ball to Gerrard and let him decode what to do. A part of my heart broke when they announced Gerrard was leaving but a part of me is optimistic that we have some talented players to take the club out of Gerrards shadow and into a new era. #tonky
