Will be changing the way the six inch hole it put in the board. Old way was my radial arm drill press...only way you could reach the center of the hole 9 inches from the top. Arm on this drill will extend up to 17 inches. I always was stressed out drilling the hole..any shake at all on the board while drilling meant lots of sanding. Second photo is a Craftsman plunge router. with trim bits. they are setting on the board I will use as a template, hopefully last six inch hole I had to drill. Should mean less sanding and lots less stress I hope. 3 sets of boards in the last photo...3rd set is in the background.
