Will the last employee of Canada Post please turn out the lights when they close down. I just mailed a 40 pound box of organic apples to Ontario. Apples cost $90. The shipping on the box was $60. When the shipping costs approach the cost of the item being transported, then this becomes an unsustainable business. I will probably not ship many more boxes of apples. WHO WANTS TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL 70% just to ship the product. A few years ago the shipping costs were around $30.
