Will this industry ever change? Each and every one of us plays a roll in creating change within this industry. Brokers and Realtors with higher policy enforcement and ethical standards, less greed, and concern for the bigger picture and the Real Estate community as a whole. And Buyers and Sellers with more understanding of the dangers involved with meeting complete strangers at the drop of a dime because you want it now. Each and every time any of us refuse to uphold higher standards we are opening the door for any of us to be Beverly Carter on any given day. We operate in a dog eat dog industry daily. And, we continue to fuel the flame. We buy into apps that allows a potential buyer to pull up to a yard sign and say let me in now or I will call someone else who will. We plaster ourselves on every possible lead source site in the hopes it will lead to a closed transaction. Imagine if every agent required an office visit and there was no threat of losing business to the agents who didnt require an office visit. Imagine if a new standard became well known to Buyers and Sellers that in order to do business, we will confirm your legitimacy to the best of our ability. Evil, will always find a way and we have to be as proactive as we can to protect ourselves. I think the beginning of change has to be that we, as a professional community, only expect and accept a higher standard of business as a means of getting our Realtor community home to their families each evening.
