In the morning the donkeys would be brought down from their field atop Telegraph Hill, Halfway and herded along Halfway Road, through Sheerness town to their site by the sea wall. In the evening it was the reverse procedure. They were well cared for by the family and for many years were a Sheerness seaside fixture.
