William Mark Bill Burger, 50, of New Berlin, passed from this life at 4:43 pm, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on September 7, 1963 in Springfield to Joseph John and Carolyn Ruth Knudsen Burger, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and half brother, Jerry Burger. He married Cynthia Cindy Breakville on April 5, 1986 and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Hannah Burger; two sons, Joel and Ben Burger all of New Berlin. Two sisters, Nancy (Rich) Koehler of Loami, Jan (Andy Upton) Kunz of New Berlin; two brothers, Jim (Laurie) Burger and Chris (Tracey) Burger both of New Berlin; two half brothers, Joe Burger and Vernon (Bobbi) Burger both of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a longtime member of Loami Christian Church and West Side Christian Church. First and foremost Bill was a faithful disciple of Christ. His strength of character and integrity were apparent to all who knew him. He was a strong family man, spending much of his time instructing, watching and encouraging his children in their endeavors. He had a passion for filling needs of family and friends and had a huge servants heart. Bill was the acting Operations Engineer for IDOT District 6. Visitation: 4-7 pm, Monday, February 24, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home. Lie-in-State: 10:00-11:00 am, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at West Side Christian Church. Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at West Side Christian Church, with Charlie Duggins and Anthony Bliss officiating. Burial will follow at Berlin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bill Burger Scholarship Fund C/O Warren Boynton State Bank.
