William had an exciting and very eventful night at KSP. He won the heat and started 5th row in the A. He took the lead on lap 4 and by the half way point he appeared to be on his way to another victory. There was a caution just after the halfway point. After taking the green on the restart, a car leaving the hot pit area re-entered the speedway going into turn 1. The very violent wreck occurred when the lapped car and William made contact at the front straightaway opening. Williams car was torn up beyond repair and when asked about the crash he simply said he wasnt mad at anybody and he was glad no one was injured. Its a contact sport an anything can happen. Thats why these cars have roll cages and they wear safety equipment. He then went on to say: if you are going to crash, you might as well be spectacular.
